Ward Updates

Door knocking in Ward 21

During the next week or two, our team will be visiting the villages in our ward and engaging with residents around any concerns or issues they may have. While we may not get to every door given the size of our ward, we will be aiming to do as much as possible. Hope to see you when we come knocking. As always, if we miss you, we welcome you to email or call our office with any questions or concerns.

Scheduled Resurfacing Work in Ward 21

  • Pollock Rd (Malakoff Rd to Fourth Line Rd): Tentatively scheduled to begin the week of September 3rd.

  • Second Line Rd South (Roger Stevens Dr to Century Road East): Tentatively scheduled to begin the week of September 3rd.

  • Pierce Rd (McCordick to Malakoff): Tentatively scheduled for July 23rd to August 4th. Road will be open to street residents and emergency vehicles, but closed to pass-through traffic.

Ongoing Road Closures

  • SCHEDULE CHANGES DUE TO STRIKE ACTION: Work on Barnsdale Road between Twin Elm Road and Moodie Drive was anticipated to be completed on June 30. However, due to ongoing strike action at Hydro Ottawa, work has been delayed until a settlement is reached. Barnsdale has been reopened to regular traffic, though residents may still see some signage and equipment. Following the strike, Hydro Ottawa may re-apply for a temporary road closure to complete outstanding work on Barnsdale. Residents are encouraged to read more or contact Hydro Ottawa for more information regarding the strike.

  • Shea Road Southbound, from Fernbank to Flewellyn, until Monday, July 31, 2023.

  • Eagleson Road Northbound, from Perth Street to Fallowfield, until August 25, 2023.

Renewal of Fourth Line Road Bridge to begin in August
Construction to replace the Fourth Line Road Bridge over the Crawford Hill Municipal Drain is tentatively scheduled to commence in August, and will require that Fourth Line Road be closed for the duration of construction, approximately 10 weeks. A detour using Pollock Road, McCordick Road and Century Road West will be in place.
