Councillor’s Assistant
The Office of Councillor David Brown (Ward 21) is seeking a full-time employee to assist with casework and administrative support. The successful candidate will report to the Councillor and Executive Assistant.
Duties
The role involves the following basic duties:
· Managing and responding to constituent requests
· Handling complex files with residents and City staff
· Data management and filing
· Managing the Councillor’s day-to-day calendar and affairs
· Expense reporting
· General office administrative duties
· Other duties as required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
· Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline
· 2-3 years of work experience
· Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
· Demonstrated experience working under pressure and communicating professionally, including with difficult clients
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· English essential; bilingualism is an asset
This role is intended to be a full-time position at 35 hours a week, though part-time applicants willing to work a minimum of 20 hours weekly will also be considered. The job is intended for early career professionals; work from home is generally encouraged, though the job may require occasional travel to locations throughout the City. Compensation is approximately $25/hr.
