Park proposal: Seasonal Dog Park on Perth Street

Through much of 2023, I have been working behind the scenes to push for the addition of a seasonal dog park in Richmond. As the village grows, the need for a dedicated space for folks and their pups to gather is increasingly obvious. I have worked to secure funding, a dedicated site, and City staff support for this park, and I am happy to say that the City is moving forward with design and public consultation work.

The location proposed is 6300 Perth St, just East of the Fox Run community and behind the fire station. The proposal being developed by staff will include a driveway, parking lot, and 5,000sq meter fenced-in dog park area. Moreover, as proposed, paths will be expanded to connect the park with the path network near the Fox Run Stormwater management pond. Please note that, as proposed, the park is intended to be a seasonal park for residents to enjoy during daylight hours.

Future updates will be provided to the community as they become available. Please register for Engage Ottawa to be kept in the loop on public consultation for this park.
