Summer is over and Budget Season has begun
The Fall season is better known around Ottawa City Council as "budget season." I have been advocating on behalf of Ward 21 to keep taxes as low as possible by identifying efficiencies in the organization.

Annual Richmond Fair (Sept 19th-22nd)
The annual Richmond Fair is happening this weekend. There is lots to do and see for the whole family. This is a gentle reminder to be careful and patient while travelling down Perth Street or near the Fairground as there will be an increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Construction Updates
Road Resurfacing & Construction Impacts
Below is a updated list of roads that will be resurfaced or are being impacted by infrastructure work. There may be nighttime construction noise associated with some of these projects from the hours of 10:00pm to 7:00am.
Further updates will be provided as necessary about these projects and other planned road work.
Flewellyn Road from Eagleson Road to Huntley Road
Garvin Road from Huntley Road to Joys Road (Related to work by Hydro Ottawa)
Prince of Wales Drive from Longfield Drive to Barnsdale Road (2024 start date to be determined)
Roger Stevens Drive from Dwyer Hill Road to Malakoff Road
Roger Stevens Drive from Malakoff Road to McCordick Road
Richmond Road Closures Plan
Below is a coordinated road closure plan related to different infrastructure projects with multiple municipal partners that will affect the east end of the village of Richmond:
Phase 1
(Mon, Sept 24th @ 7:00am - Fri, Sept 27th @ 6:00pm)
Closure of Barnsdale Road while work on the Forcemain continues on Eagleson Road (Northbound lane).
Phase 2
(Fri, Sept 27th @ 6:00pm - Mon, Sept 30th @ 6:00am)
Forcemain project opens Eagleson Road Northbound. Barnsdale Road opens for the weekend and the Forcemain project closes Old Richmond Road for the weekend only.
Phase 3
(Mon, Sept 30 @ 6:00am - Sun, Oct 06 @ 6:00pm)
Forcemain project will reopen Old Richmond Road while Barnsdale Road is closed again.
Forcemain project will fully close Eagleson Road south of Richmond (from Old Richmond Road to Ottawa Street).
Phase 4
Forcemain project will reopen Eagleson Road fully on Sunday, Oct 06th at 6:00pm.
Hydro continues work on Barnsdale Road until Friday, October 11th at 6:00pm.
Other Construction
Below are other ongoing construction projects that may have local impacts, including closures and lane reductions:
Multiple Roads on Long Island - Manotick Watermain Link (Phase 2)
Riverside Crescent from North Riverside Drive to Long Island Road (September 23rd-27th) - road closure.
Bridgeport Avenue from Trestle Street to Manotick Main Street (Sept 30th-Oct 4th) - road closure and nighttime construction noise.
Manotick Main Street between O'Grady Street and Currier Street - temporary lane reductions are planned (starting August 26th) for sidewalk replacement work.
Ottawa Street West - Storm sewer and utility work.
South Island Park Drive from South River Drive to Christopher Drive (early September-late November) for watermain infrastructure work.
