Guiderail Night Work on Bankfield Rd

The City’s Asset Management Group identified several locations where existing guiderails need to be repaired and installed. Guiderails are a protective boundary feature to prevent access to off limits or dangerous areas, and guide vehicles back onto the road. This work is being conducted to improve the guiderails in your community.

What:     Night work will involve up to 4 nights of guiderail installation, weather permitting. The guiderail installation will be carried out at night to provide a safer operation to motorists and other road users. 

When:    This work is expected to start on Monday, March 27, 2023 around 5 pm and will run 4 consecutive nights until 7 am the following morning.

Where:   Work will occur in the following locations:

·       Bankfield Road: Mud Creek Bridge, 870m east of First Line Road

·       Bankfield Road: 380m east of Potter Drive

·       Bankfield Road: 600m east of First Line Road

Who:     The City of Ottawa has retained the Contractor, Peninsula Construction, to complete the work.

The Contractor will take every precaution to minimize interruptions to the normal life of your family and/or operation of your business, but as you can appreciate, there may be some inconvenience during construction. We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation.

For construction activity hours of work, the City of Ottawa follows provincial requirements and the City’s Noise By-law (2017-255). A noise by-law exemption will be in place for this work.
