Pole Line Extension - Royal York St.

Starting the week of April 3, 2023, Hydro Ottawa will be extending a new pole line along Royal York Street. We estimate that this project will be completed by May 31, 2023.

We recognize that construction and power outages can be very disruptive. Please be assured that the scheduling of this project has been reviewed and will move forward with our customer’s best interests in mind.

Overall, this work will include:

  • Installation of new poles (6) to extend a pole line from McBean Street

  •  Installation of a duct structure across McBean Street and Royal York Street

  •  Tree trimming where required

  •  Lane reductions.

There are no scheduled power outages associated with this work. Residents will notice increased construction presence throughout the project, including construction vehicles. Traffic control and lane reductions will be implemented to ensure that roads and sidewalks remain safe to residents and staff. Construction activities will take place on the City of Ottawa Road Right-of-Way allowance - a legal right of access for Hydro Ottawa for the purpose of installing and maintaining its electrical distribution system.

Our qualified staff and contractors will conduct this work safely and efficiently, ensuring that any inconvenience is minimal.
