Ward Updates


Changes to office schedule - Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving! Our office will be closed on Monday October 9th, and certain City services such as garbage collection will be impacted. Learn more about the City's scheduling changes here.

Volunteers Wanted
Do you believe in the power of community? The Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) is searching for you. Whether you have a few hours or a lifetime to give, your presence can bring support to those who need it most. Anxiety & Stress Program for Teens
The Y Mind program is a free 7-week program that offers support for those who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety or stress. Participants learn evidence-based coping skills based on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, self-compassion, and connect with peers who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings. Construction Updates

Meynell/Perth Roundabout
The City of Ottawa has issued the Commence Work Order and road cut permit for the roundabout at Perth Street & Meynell. Construction of the roundabout is slated to begin imminently with work progressing into November.

Road Closures

Fourth Line and McCordick Roads will have portions of the road closed south of Century Road due to excavation and culvert work. Fourth Line and McCordick Roads will be closed from Pollock and Harbison to Century Road West.

  • Fourth Line from Pollock to Century Road West will be closed until November 12 due to excavation and box culvert replacement activities.

  • McCordick from Harbison Road to Century Road will be closed between until October 6.

Eagleson Rd from Old Richmond Rd to Barnsdale Rd will be closed until October 6 to connect the newly installed force main up to the crossing.

Donnelly Drive from Gilroy Road and Dwyer Hill Road will be closed to facilitate a culvert replacement until October 6.

Terrier Circle will be closed for sewer mainline repair work on October 16. 

Rideau Valley Drive from Phelan Road to Roger Stevens Drive will be closed for culvert replacement between October 11 to October 25. 

Brownlee Road from Shea Road to Huntley Road will be closed for culvert replacement between October 18 to November 15.

Phelan Road West from Third Line Road South to Prince of Wales Drive will be closed for culvert replacement between October 23 to October 30.

ROSSS Drop-In
Rural Ottawa South Support Services' (ROSSS) is hosting a new Richmond Drop-In program on Wednesday afternoons, starting October 4. Learn More

Book Launch

Trick or Treat with Mayor Mark Sutcliffe
On October 28 from 5-8pm, come Trick or Treat with Mayor Mark Sutcliffe and your favourite costumed characters in the “Weird and Wonderful” Heritage Building! Admission is a donation to the Ottawa Food Bank's Baby Basics Program. Learn more

Rural Youth Summit
The Rural Ottawa Youth Mental Health Collective is hosting a summit for rural youth looking to gain leadership and mental health skills. It will be on November 18, 10am-3pm at the Osgoode Youth Association. Learn more

Free ASIST training
The Rural Ottawa Youth Mental Health Collective is offering 2 sessions of free ASIST training in November for any adult who mentors/works/volunteers with rural Ottawa youth. Learn more

Rural Councillors' 2024 Budget Consultation
Have your say on the City of Ottawa's 2024 Budget! Join us in-person at the Chamber in Ben Franklin Place (101 Centrepoint Drive) or online on November 22 at 7pm for a presentation from Ottawa City staff and a question-and-answer session regarding the upcoming budget. Kars 3rd Annual Christmas Markets
Looking for that perfect gift for someone special? Mark your calendar! The Kars Annual Christmas Markets are coming back at the Kars RA between 10am to 3pm on the following days:
