Perth and Meynell – Roundabout Issues and Delays

Residents in the Fox Run community have been patiently waiting for the construction of a roundabout at the intersection at Perth and Meynell. Unfortunately, the roundabout has again been delayed and is now expected to be completed in Spring of 2024. To say that this is frustrating to me personally is a gross understatement. I am absolutely outraged and have expressed as much to the developer and City staff.

Read the full update on what has caused this delay and what I am doing to support the community.

I was pleased to join Bob Easy, President of the Goalie Academy, has he donated $2,000 to the Richmond-Munster and the Stittsville Food banks. Thank you, Bob, for your incredibly generous donations! If you are able to do so, please consider helping a family in need through a donation to your local foodbank. Learn more

Ward Updates

Let there be light! Street light fixes in Munster

Residents in Munster may have noticed that, on Monday, the streetlights came back on in the community. My office and worked hard with City staff and Hydro Ottawa to get the lights on prior to Halloween. The main reason why it took so long is that there were delays as a result of the labour strike at Hydro Ottawa earlier this year. Other projects throughout the City are delayed as well; we remain in regular communication with Hydro Ottawa to prioritize the energization work throughout the community.

Winter Recreation Activities
The new registration dates for winter activities have been posted. Registration opens Tuesday, November 14 (swimming) and Thursday, November 16 (all other programs) at 9 pm. Read more

Construction Updates

Construction season: coming to an end
As we approach winter, residents should expect to see fewer construction projects throughout the ward. As they say, Canada has two seasons: winter and construction! Some minor work may proceed through the winter, but major projects involving asphalt and concrete will resume in the spring.

Road Closures

Fourth Line from Pollock to Century Road West is closed due to excavation and box culvert replacement activities. Work on Fourth Line is ongoing but delays were encountered due to unforeseen circumstances outside the City’s control, including significant vandalism of equipment on site. Work has resumed and is expected to be completed before the end of November.

Brownlee Road from Shea Road to Huntley Road is closed for culvert replacement until November 15.
