At the time of writing, Council was just provided with information regarding the City’s proposed Curbside Waste Diversion Policy. I wanted to take a moment to outline the policy, why I do not support it, and what a better solution would look like for our City.

Ward Updates

Ward Council: Inaugural Meeting
Earlier this week, my office hosted the first meeting of the new Ward Council. This Council, composed of volunteer representatives from the more than a dozen community associations and other important organizations throughout the Ward, is an important way in which my office is fostering greater community engagement. Learn more 

Shea Road Closure
Shea Road southbound will be closed from Fernbank Road to Flewellyn Road, from Monday, May 15, 2023, to Monday, July 31 2023, for construction. Detour via Terry Fox Drive will be in place.

Eagleson Road Closure
The northbound lane on Eagleson, from Perth Street to Fallowfield, was closed on April 23 and will remain closed until August 25 for the Village of Richmond Road Forcemain Twinning Phase 2 Project for the City of Ottawa. Southbound lane will remain open.
 
Barnsdale Road Closure
Barnsdale Road from Twin Elm Road to Moodie Drive was closed on Monday, April 24, 2023, and will remain closed until Monday, June 12, 2023. Hydro Ottawa Ltd. will be installing 33 poles and associated anchors, removing existing equipment and poles. Detour in effect.

Give to Get Art Auction: On May 18, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm, the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) will hold its annual fundraising event in support of local art, artists, and the OAG’s public exhibitions, permanent collection, and community programming. Learn more

Manotick Public School Spring Fair: On May 27, from 10 - 2, you can enjoy bouncy castles, games, a magic show, live demos, food trucks, an epic silent auction and more at Manotick Public School’s annual Spring Fair! Bracelets can be purchased at the gate or in advance at Manotick Independent. Learn more

Richmond Market: On May 27, from 10 - 3, visit the 30+ local vendors indoors and outdoors at St John the Baptist church hall, at 67 Fowler Street in Richmond. Food Concession run by St Johns. Learn more
