Ward Updates

Spring has Sprung
Spring-like weather has emerged a little early this year. That means that the City will be taking advantage of the warmer temperatures and starting some operations to clean up after the winter season and prepare for summer, including:

  • Street sweeping

  • Fixing potholes

  • Reinstalling traffic calming measures

Read more here.

Seasonal Load Restrictions
Load restrictions for heavy vehicles on some roads are now in place. This is to limit the impact of vehicles with heavy loads on roadways to preserve the asphalt. For more information, including seasonal load restrictions status and a list of seasonal restricted-load roadways, please visit the City’s webpage.

Grants Available Through Ottawa Rural Clean Water Program (ORCWP)
The ORCWP is now accepting applications. This program provides funding to landowners and non-profit organizations for projects that protect surface water and groundwater quality, with grants of up to $15,000 available. Farmers along with landowners within rural Ottawa are eligible to apply.

Visit Ottawa Rural Clean Water Program | City of Ottawa to see a full list of eligible projects and complete an online application form.

Construction Updates

Construction Noise Notice
Location
: 63 Royal York St (Richmond)
When: July 01st-Sept 28th (24hrs/day)
Details: The emergency bypass pumps in operation for a bypass of the Richmond Pumping Station will be located outside of the station. These are required as part of the scope of the project. These pumps are critically silenced, so are very quiet, and will be situated as best as possible to minimize neighbourhood impact. The pumps cannot be shut off for any reason or there is a risk of surcharging of the sewer. The pumping station will be offline and the temporary pumps will be all that is operating in their place.
