Environment Canada issues snowfall warning.

Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for the City of Ottawa. Starting tonight and running into Saturday morning, the Ottawa region could see snowfall amounts anywhere from 15 to 25 centimetres. The current forecast indicates accumulation of up to 5 centimetres on Thursday night, another 10 to 15 centimetres through the day on Friday, with another 5 more centimetres possible overnight Friday and into Saturday morning. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 centimetres per hour are possible. With air temperatures expected to remain near freezing throughout this event, the snow is expected to be heavy and wet, with high winds expected.

The Roads and Parking Services team is ready to respond, and all available resources will be deployed and monitored. The focus will be on clearing and treating priority sidewalks and roads. A winter parking ban is in effect to facilitate snow clearing.

If you have an emergency concern regarding snow clearing in your area, we encourage you to call 3-1-1 or email 311@ottawa.ca.
