The Goulbourn Tradition of Service: The Stories of Three Local Military Families

  • Stittsville Branch, Ottawa Public Library 1637 Stittsville Main Street Ottawa, ON, K2S 1N6 Canada (map)

Mark Heckman has identified and researched three families with a deep association with service to our country. Goulbourn Township has had a long association with military service dating back to the early 1800’s. Our files have identified families involved in active service in the War of 1812 through to D-Day in 1944 and beyond. November is a special times to honour those who have served our country over the years. How will you recognise and remember the brave Canadians who have done so much to help others?

Please join Mark as he shares the stories of three such families with deep roots in Goulbourn Township.

This free event, presented by the Goulbourn Township Historical Society, is open to everyone. It is being held in the Stittsville Branch of the Ottawa Public Library on November 16 2024 at 1:30 pm. Parking and refreshments are free. Please tell a neighbour and bring a friend.
