The Goulbourn Township Historical Society’s (GTHS) March event will celebrate the early settlement of Irish immigrants to Goulbourn Township. The GTHS is pleased to have well-known local historians Howard Healey and Roger Young who both come from families who were among Goulbourn’s earliest Irish settlers.

Among Howard’s forebears are the Talbot family, who have a connection to the settlers of Hazeldean, including Roger’s ancestors, and the Richmond Military settlement. They will present the stories of their families in Ireland, the conditions that led to their emigration to Canada, and their experiences as they journeyed and settled here over 200 years ago.

Please join the GTHS at the Ottawa Public Library – Stittsville Branch Saturday March 15, 2025 at 1:30 pm. This presentation is free and open to the general public. Parking is available and refreshments will be served. Bring a friend and tell a neighbour.
