Addressing traffic issues in the Ward

One of the most frequent requests for assistance to my office comes in the form of reported traffic issues. Residents often reach out to report excessive speeding and unsafe driving conditions, providing helpful suggestions about how the City might improve the safety of our roads for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

I wanted to take a moment to outline what my office’s role is in addressing these issues, how the City can assist through the 3-1-1 process, and what other options exist to address traffic-related issues in our communities.

Ward Updates

Dickinson Days - June 2 - 4, Manotick

For as long as I can remember, summer was considered officially begun with the annual onset of Dickinson Days in historic Manotick. This festival has been a community staple for more than 40 years, and celebrates the village’s rich history, unique shops and businesses, and tight-knit community that truly highlights the benefits of living in a rural village.

Dickinson Days celebrates the birthday of Moss Kent Dickinson, who along with his partner Joseph Currier, built the mill and complex, and purchased much of the land that is now the established village of Manotick.

The weekend begins with an evening BBQ, followed by a Children’s Show, a parade and fireworks. Day 2 starts with a pancake breakfast, followed by a Village Craft Fair, Kid’s Fishing Derby and a whole lot more. Sunday includes a BBQ and variety show. View the full schedule

I encourage everyone to take advantage of this great family-friendly, outdoor event. My team and I will be participating in the Village Craft Fair. I invite you to stop off at our booth to say Hello! Hope to see everyone there.
